I was revising with my son for his upcoming “N” levels and we encountered a probability question. Since it had been a while since I last studied this topic, I felt a bit rusty.
I decided to use ChatGPT 4.0 for assistance. I took a photo of the question, uploaded it, and instantly received not only the answer but also a detailed explanation.
For instance, I asked ChatGPT 4.0 how to find the probability of drawing two green cards. It explained that there are 12 cards in Box A, with the probability of drawing a green card being 2/12 or 1/6. Since a green card is then added to Box B, the total number of cards in Box B increases by one, making the probability of drawing a green card from Box B 1/9.
ChatGPT 4.0 also provided the formula: P(Green from A and Green from B) = P(Green from A) × P(Green from B | Green from A), which equals 1/6 × 1/9 = 1/54.
We continued to solve other questions, such as finding the probability that neither card is green and the probability of drawing two cards of the same color.
